Formerly this park was known as Astakona Park which was a magnificent recreational park that left many sweet memories for students of MPSI and IPSI era. Now this park has been given a new name as Taman Batik. The name change occurred when the adept 3D students who were under the guidance of Prof. Zulkifli Yusuf accomplished the task of making ‘3D Batik’ by using a mosaic to produce a unique shape. Taman Batik was launched by Professor Dato’ Dr. Aminanah Ayob, the fourth Vice Chancellor of UPSI on November 2, 2010.
