Suluh Budiman Building was built in august 1919 and construction was completed in June 1922. The plan of the building was designed by a famous architect from the Federated Malay States Named Kesteven.







 

 

 



 

 

 




The design of the building had the elements of the medieval Dutch-Gothic architecture styles and it was obvious  that the design of the building depicted the Notre-Dame Church in France and Salisbury in England. The craftsmen who constructed the building were brought in from the Java land and also skilled Chinese laborers.  This building had a floor area of 3,239 square meters. The upper floor of this building was SITC main administration center which included the principal’s office, staff room, meeting room, general office, composing office and library. Meanwhile, the ground floor consist of class rooms and main hall for the monthly assembly or college official functions.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

   National Education Museum Inauguration Ceremony

 

The Suluh Budiman Building have been gazetted under the National Heritage Act 2005 as a National Heritage Building on February 14, 2009.  On August 24, 2009 the work of building conservation, gallery construction and infrastructure installation that meets the requirements of museum practice was performed. The museum was completed in March 2011 and the opening ceremony was held on July 19, 2011 which was inaugurated by His Majesty the Raja Permaisuri Perak Tuanku Bainun. The museum contains one thematic exhibition space and 21 permanent exhibition space.
