Tanjong Malim National School (SKTM) Building

The building was originally known as SITC training school, then renamed as Tanjong Malim National School (SKTM). SKTM building is made of wood and resembles the British colonial school design. This school was opened in 1930 and led by Cikgu Lembang, the headmaster. The students were children of lecturers, workers and local people. This school became the teaching training school of SITC for undergraduates before they were placed to teach at schools. This training school was managed by Maktab Perguruan Sultan Idris (Sultan Idris Teachers’ College). In 1989, SKTM was moved into a new building in an area of 8 hectares at Jalan Ketoyang. This old school building is being maintained by UPSI after MPSI.
