Pole - The Impact of Communist Shots
During the emergency period from 1948 to 1960, Tanjong Malim and the surrounding area became a hotbed of communist terrorists. The evil crimes and cruelty the communist happened almost every day which involved threats against SITC students and Tanjong Malim police forces, bomb blasted at oil depots owned by Mogah Bus Company, buses burned and many more. On this pole, there were traces of gunshots fired by communist terrorists during a shootout with SITC Home Guard on February 1, 1952. A total of 20 communist terrorists fired on the STIC Home Guard hut caused damage to the hut and the pole, but no causalities were reported.
